Knitted Village returns for church summer fete

All the fun of the fete!

All the fun of a traditional village fete will be coming to St Leonard’s Church, Sandridge, on Sunday June 11th.

The fete will also mark the public return of the celebrated Sandridge Knitted Village that always turns heads in wonder and amazement.

The church fete, held inside and around the 900-year-old building, will feature stalls, children’s crafts, a café and barbecue, and activities provided by the local Scouts.

Visitors will also be able to take a close look at the Sandridge Knitted Village and see how the local knitters have developed the display. The display features accurate and detailed knitted models of well-known local landmark buildings – including the church, complete with a knitted vicar and bridal party.

Rev Peter Crumpler, Associate Minister at St Leonard’s, said: “The church fete is a wonderful occasion for all the family – a real traditional village event.”

Admission to the fete is free, and the event is open from 2pm to 5pm. All proceeds go to support St Leonard’s Church.
